My work has been profiled in <em>Lighting Design + Application<\/em>, <em>Lighting &amp; Sound America<\/em>, <em>Architectural SSL<\/em>, and <em>Design Bureau<\/em> magazines.<\/p>\n<p>In the classroom my emphasis is on light as a design medium that supports the architectural and interior designs, creates an appropriate environment, and affects users&#8217; perception of a space. \u00a0I have taught theatrical and architectural lighting design in New York City since 1993. \u00a0I currently teach architectural lighting design at New York School of Interior Design, New York University, and Pratt Institute. \u00a0 I have also taught theatre lighting design at New York University and architectural lighting design at Parsons and Fashion Institute of Technology.<\/p>\n<p>I am the co-chair of the IES Color Committee, a contributing author of their <em>Lighting Science-5 Color<\/em> (IES 2020), <em>Design Guide 1 &#8211; \u00a0Color and Illumination<\/em> (IES, 2016), and a frequent contributor to <em>Lighting Design + Application<\/em>. \u00a0I hold a BFA in Theatre Arts from University of Miami and an MFA in Theatre Lighting Design from New York University. \u00a0I am a member of Illuminating Engineering Society, International Association of Lighting Designers, and am Lighting Certified by the NCQLP.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jason Livingston IALD, IES, LC I am the principal of Studio T+L, LLC a lighting design and theatre consulting firm based in New York City, which I founded in 2006.
