This was jointly announced by two US agencies \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/climate.nasa.gov\">NASA<\/a> and NOAA \u2013 and corresponds with an announcement by a similar agency in Japan. I\u2019m not going to retell that story here, but I do want to repeat some of the most alarming points.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The 10 warmest years in more than a century have all occurred since 1997. That\u2019s new high temperature record in 10 of the past 14 years.<\/li>\n<li>Average temperatures in the US have now exceeded the 20<sup>th<\/sup> century average for 38 consecutive years. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 That\u2019s every year since 1976. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Think about it. No one born after 1976 has known a year colder than average.<\/li>\n<li>The last time the global temperatures fell below the 20<sup>th<\/sup> century average for a given month was in 1985.<\/li>\n<li>The last full year of colder than average temperatures was 1976.<\/li>\n<li>The last record cold year was 1911. That\u2019s 103 years ago. Now go back and look at the first bullet point.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here\u2019s a graph illustrating the trend.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/designinglight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/34_9_c365-2-l.jpg-e1421533031342.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-277\" src=\"https:\/\/designinglight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/34_9_c365-2-l.jpg-1024x812.png\" alt=\"34_9_c365-2-l.jpg\" width=\"650\" height=\"515\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/designinglight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/34_9_c365-2-l.jpg.png\"><br \/>\n<\/a>For those who think that climate change is a liberal conspiracy, my suggestion is to take it up with the Pentagon. In 2012 the Pentagon formed a climate change working group. The result of their work is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acq.osd.mil\/ie\/download\/CCARprint.pdf\">DOD 2014 Climate Change Adaptation Roadmap<\/a>, which was released in October 2014 and accepts climate change as a fact.
