{"id":933,"date":"2019-02-11T09:30:11","date_gmt":"2019-02-11T14:30:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/designinglight.com\/?p=933"},"modified":"2019-02-04T16:34:33","modified_gmt":"2019-02-04T21:34:33","slug":"cida-publishes-new-definition-of-interior-design","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/designinglight.com\/?p=933","title":{"rendered":"CIDA Publishes New Definition of Interior Design"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This is a lighting design blog, but many of my students are interior designers, so I&#8217;m going to speak to them for a moment with interesting news.  <a href=\"https:\/\/accredit-id.org\">The Council for Interior Design Qualification<\/a> has updated the definition of Interior Design.  The short definition is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Interior design encompasses the analysis, planning, design, documentation, and management of interior non-structural\/non-seismic construction and alteration projects in compliance with applicable building design and construction, fire, life-safety, and energy codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines for the purpose of obtaining a building permit, as allowed by law.
